Ah… *stretches arms* it feels good to post! My sincerest apologies for the radio silence the last few weeks! Rest assured, I promise it is with good reason ; ) I’m happy to say that a couple months ago I decided to dip these toes into the yummy pond otherwise known as weddings! For those who know me well, I’m sure this doesn’t come as a surprise ; ) You see…the truth is, I have an incurable sickness. Besides the fact that I use far too many smileys ; )…I love weddings like a fat kid loves cake. Probably more. Even back in our early college days my friend and I had many a conversation about how fabulous it would be to crash them. We loved every detail and would day-dream of doing giant cannon balls into said wedding pond. In all seriousness though, I love weddings because of love….and because admittedly, I’m a bit of a… *cough* romantic. There’s just something about the raw emotion of such an incredible day that rarely seems to be surpassed in a lifetime. The love that radiates between the couple, family, and friends and spills over into such elated excitement and joyful anticipation of things to come. Mmm…my cup runneth over : ) So when I started getting wedding inquiries a few months ago I thought…”why wouldn’t I want to marry my two loves”!? –punn intended ; ) And to be honored with the most exciting job of all (perhaps a little biased here ha ; )?! I can’t imagine anything better (unless that is, you want to cover it in chocolate –please see “fat kid loves cake”). I would only hope that one day years down the road on a cool rainy day, fire crackling in their cozy home….a couple would sit in a big overstuffed chair, hot cocoa in hand and dust off their beautiful album. They would laugh and cry reliving the memories of how it all began while celebrating all that has come to be. Guuush! See? I’m hopeless ; ) But I digress… several weeks ago I began second shooting alongside some talented photographers that I am so humbled by. Its been a blessing to work with them and a great experience with many more soon to come (some I’m able to post and others will be in a private gallery for inquiries only –please email me for these). I can’t wait to share the journey with you! I’m also working fulltime in design in addition to shooting almost every weekend, so there may be a lag between posts, but I’ll get them up as soon as possible!
Without further adieu, the wedding below is one of my first. It was held on a gorgeous day in Palm Springs, CA and I had the pleasure of second shooting for the talented Jen Daigle : ) She was so wonderful to work with, the hotel gorgeous, and the couple beautifully in love! There were so many touching moments, but one of my favorite was between the Bride and her Dad…the tears when he first saw her were so sweet. It’s amazing how much you can see in a simple moment. Hope you enjoy!
